“The Monster at the End of this Book” commentary

I haven’t done this before; written my own commentary. Ok, it’s more like I’ve never posted it up on the internet before, especially in a timely fashion. I have been writing pop culture notes for my own amusement for a long time.
( Spoilers Lie Within. Duh. )

Ok, last semester I was forced to take Newspaper, so I had to do some articles for the blasted student paper. I got to do the national news section once, and it just happened to be for the edition right after the election, so I actually got to be the one to say that Obama won. I'm sure that'll be one for the grandkids (grandnephews more like). I'm pretty proud of that column, except there was about one word and a comma that I wanted to take out, but I guess that's not bad. Still proud of my opportunity to slant the news the way *I* thought it should go for once.

So, I was wandering the evil and maligned halls of wikipedia and I managed to find a link to this; http://journal.transformativeworks.org/index.php/twc/article/view/30/36. It's a paper called, "The epic love story of Sam and Dean": Supernatural, queer readings, and the romance of incestuous fan fiction by Catherine Tosenberger. Highly recommended.

My point is that this fine and highly entertaining paper references mostly livejornal fics. They sound like interesting stories, so I'm hunting down the writers and friending most of them, because the ones I've found so far look like interesting people. I assume you all know that you were used for this paper already. I'm hanging on to it for the next time someone says that there's nothing deliberately slashy in Supernatural. I love having academic papers to back me up.

A week or so and two hundred dollars later, my laptop is back up and running. As best as I can tell, the battery and the transformer crapped out on my almost simultaneously, which is why I had to replace both. But at least it's working again.
