Bloodlust did cross my mind while I was doing this up and I saw someone else mention that Dean's always been the one throwing the first punch. I couldn't really figure out a way to work it in and have it all make sense though. Thing is, they've gone over these issues again and again in their disagreements (even in Playthings, Drunk!Sam accuses Dean of being bossy).
Also interesting is the difference between the use of "freak" and "monster". In the Pilot, Dean says that Sam needs to face up to the face that he's "one of us, a freak." Dean repeatedly self-identifies as a freak and says that Sam's the same.
Something else I found intriguing is that I couldn't find any examples of the boys fighting from season three. There are some verbal disagreements, but I'm pretty sure that they are all focused on Dean's deal and what to do about it.
