Life is Good: Hair

An update on something that I'd complained about on tumblr, because tumblr is a place to have problems, and this is perhaps a place for getting better, while still being honest that not everything is 100% facebook/pintrest perfect.
I mentioned that I was having problems with my hair; mostly being frizzy and nothing working. I still haven't settled on a shampoo/conditioner that I'm extremely happy with, partly because cutting down how often I wash my hair means that I go through my existing shampoo/conditioner supply slowly.
However, I have found some products that do work fairly well for me; 1. Deep conditioner/hair masks about every other wash. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Smooth is alright and affordable, since you can get coupons and sales for Aussie products pretty easily, but Hask Deep Conditioner packets (Orchid & White Truffle smells good) or Hi Pro Pac Keratin Protein No-Frizz Hair are the real MVPs. They're individually cheap, $1.5-2 each, but each pack is only 1-2 treatments.
2. Hair oil. After my hair has air-dried, I apply hair oil. Hask hair oil flasks ($2, which kind doesn't seem to matter, although I really like the scent of the macadamia oil) are good, cheap, small containers that fit in a pocket easily, but the dispensing method is "uncap, pour into your palm" so precision in dispensing is a weakness. My alternative is Garnier Whole Blends Smoothing oil in coconut/cocoa butter, which doesn't have quite a great a scent as the Hask macadamia oil, but does have a pump. I use two or three pumps of the smoothing oil and one pump of Giovanni Frizz Be Gone Serum I got for $5 for a 75% full bottle at a Plato's Closet. I rub the oil/serum together on my hands and then run my fingers through my hair to distribute it, then brush with a hybrid boar bristle brush to further distribute it evenly.
3. If after that, my hair is still looking like frizzy shit in a high ponytail immediately after being put up, I pull it back down and apply a bit of Garnier Fructis Style Pure Clean Smoothing Cream I accidentally inherited from a former roommate, brush to distribute, and put back up. That'll do me for several days with just a little brushing and a hair clip/shower cap to keep it all dry while I wash the stank off of the rest of me in the days in-between hair washing.
